MAG -System™ Spark Gap Base
is what connects the accessories to the wand and insures, that you and the people you play with are safe, even if the Violet Wand has a catastrophic failure. The Aluminum Connector is precision made on a lathe and the spark gap is protected by a borosilicate glass tube. The coupling between the base and the accessories is enhanced with neodymium magnets and the visible safety spark gap is sealed off, so it can never be contaminated.
Translucent Nylon is used as the spark gap isolator. You don’t have to trust us that the spark gap is working reliably, you can see it.
The wands shown here also use the same Spark Gap Base as the “kinklab Neon Wand” and the “Zeus Twilight Wand”. They are all available for prices between US$20.00 and US$40.00 on eBay, AliExpress, etc. Just put “D’Arsonval” in the search field and they will come up.
Sizes for other wands are available here:
The 7/16 inch version will work with all new and most old/restored US units, and some of the Chinese “Nova” wands. Examples in the following picture:
The 12 millimeter version will work with the Ukrainian units and very few of the old West European violet ray units from the 30’s to 50’s (the best-known examples are Radiostat/Radiolux, Vio and Ideal). These are the Ukrainian units:
Finally, there is the 11 millimeter version, which covers 95% of the antique European Violet Ray devices. Here are a few pictures, but there are lots of other devices:
