Used BD-10A Looks very clean, but there is a small issue: The original ETP electrode has come apart (this happens all the time with these electrodes, really not a concern) and the base is stuck in the electrode socket. Grab the end with a pair of needle nosed pliers or forceps, wiggle and pull a bit and it will come out.
The seller is not aware of this, so mention the “broken off electrode stuck in the device” when you make your offer, which could be significantly below the $185 asking price ($9.99 shipping)

Used ETP BD-10A (looks clean) for $165.29 with shipping included. The buyer says that he lost “the nut” which is most certainly the nut that holds the electrode socket. What he doesn’t say is, that you need a special, thin-walled nut driver to get it in there. The unit is missing a few housing screws as the seller mentions, a 50 cent fix. It also has part of the basic ETP electrode stuck in it, a very common occurrence and an easy fix, but the seller most certainly is not even aware of it being there.

These electrodes come apart all the time as ETP uses PTFE connector where the safety spark gap is, which of course is extremely slick (Teflon® is a brand of PTFE).
Negotiate with the seller saying you are taking the risk of buying the machine with the thing stuck in there, then use needle nose pliers or large forceps to wiggle it a bit and pull it out. It’s pretty easy to do.

Although it’s not the latest version of the BD-50E (that one has a light grey smooth finish, not this dark gray textured one), it should be just fine if it works. I would ask the seller to do a test (he says he has no idea how to), i.e. switch on, turn to maximum and spark to a grounded object (appliance, stainless steel sink, etc.). Ask for the maximum spark length and if it is over half an inch the unit should be OK. Some risk remains, as it is sold as “for parts only”, but considering you can make an offer and probably get it for well below the $199.99 plus shipping asking price, it might be worth it.

This is a special treat: 220 V ETP BD-20 This is to the best of my knowledge the only Wand in the world which works with an extremely high frequency (4.5 MHz).
